Indianapolis 500 Weekend Highlights
TeamWWF is thrilled to share the highlights of our exhilarating and eventful Indianapolis 500 weekend. From Carb Day to the dramatic races, it was a non-stop adventure filled with both challenges and triumphs.
First, we would like to introduce our newest member of TeamWWF, Chloe Holman! Chloe will spend her internship with TeamWWF assisting with the diverse marketing opportunities to help build her portfolio towards a long and successful career.
A Word From Chloe
As a current Motorsports Marketing student at the University of Northwestern Ohio, I, Chloe Holman, am thrilled to announce that I am interning with TeamWWF. I am from Essex, Missouri, and was born into the world of racing, attending my first race at only 3 days old.
This past weekend, I was happily able to experience the busiest weekend of the year. It was a great introduction to what the foundation does firsthand, as I saw the work and commitment they make for the drivers. As an intern, I will help the foundation in every aspect of marketing that they need help with.
One of the highlights of the weekend was visiting three different tracks and watching two of the foundation’s Driver Ambassadors compete. Watching these drivers compete this past weekend was a powerful reminder of the importance of what TeamWWF is doing for them.
As I start my internship journey, I am filled with excitement and gratitude. Not only am I gaining hands-on experience for my future career in motorsports, but I also have the opportunity to contribute to a foundation that truly makes a difference in the lives of drivers. With my lifelong passion fueling my dedication, I am eager to drive in and support TeamWWF in any way I can.
Carb Day: Friday
The weekend kicked off on Friday with Carb Day, where we enjoyed a suite full of friends and supporters, watching the final Indy Car practice before the 500. Despite the rain washing out the Carb Night Classic, which was rescheduled for Saturday morning, the day was filled with camaraderie and anticipation.
Saturday Morning: Hoosier Hundred and Little 500
Saturday began early with Trey Burke competing in the Hoosier Hundred with Legacy Autosports. Unfortunately, Trey’s race was cut short due to a collision with Jerry Coons Jr. and Kaylee Bryson. We are relieved to report that Jerry and Kaylee are fine, and Trey sustained only minor knee injuries.
Trey’s resilience was fully displayed as he quickly moved on to Anderson for the Little 500. Starting from P25, Trey fought his way through the field to finish in a respectable P14. This perseverance and dedication are what makes us proud to have Trey on TeamWWF.
Ayrton Houk: USF Pro Championship USF2000
Ayrton Houk showcased his talent in the USF Pro Championship USF2000 during the Freedom 75 at Carb Night Classic in IRP. Ayrton started strong, being in the top 3 during practice and securing P2 in qualifying. Ayrton maintained his competitive edge during the race, running P2-P3 until 20 laps to the checkered flag. Unfortunately, worn tires caused his car to become loose, resulting in a spin and collision. Despite this setback, Ayrton is in good spirits and eagerly preparing for his next race at Road America.
The Indianapolis 500: Sunday
Sunday’s Indianapolis 500 was a day of unpredictable weather and high spirits. The morning began under gray skies, leading to a four-hour rain delay. However, this provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with our donors and ticket holders in the suite, making the best of the situation with engaging conversations and entertainment.
In true Indiana fashion, the weather completely turned around, and the sun emerged just in time for the 108th running of the Indianapolis 500. The race was a spectacle, and we were thrilled to experience it under clear skies.
Gratitude and Looking Forward
We are immensely grateful to everyone who supported TeamWWF throughout this action-packed weekend. Your enthusiasm and dedication make our journey possible, continuing to bridge the gap between talent and cost.
As we look ahead, we are excited to host our Turn Two VIP event for the 30th anniversary of the Brickyard 400, returning to the oval! We can’t wait to share another thrilling racing experience with all of you.
Thank you for your continued support and for making the Indianapolis 500 weekend unforgettable.
